Gecko’s Island Adventures, I would put it in the top 5 category. Had an absolute blast

I dove Okinawa, Korea, Phillipines, Thailand, its picked over pretty well. Dive the FL keys, any one of our small Goliath Grouper or big natural Blacks, fetches $50,000 live in Asia. Enjoy the sharks in the is;ands, not enough of them in asia either.

I spent a week in the British Virgin Islands in February. The devastation from the 2017 hurricane was mind blowing, but the locals attitude was amazing, and they were ready for tourists! Please go visit the Virgin Islands, tourism is their lively hood, and what a great way for you to help support the rebuilding of these islands and have the vacation of a lifetime!

The excursions on board are so pricey and I really don’t like to touristy crowds. Would you recommend booking anything independently through a local tour guide?

Thank you for the extensive list of things to do! Do you think that this area would be good for a woman (28 years old) traveling solo?

That’s more glamping than camping. It’s quite pricey on a per night basis. Water Island is pretty cool though.

Did you get to Gibney Beach? Its not on the map, is totally locals, private, gorgeous, and you just have to get out of the car about halfway up to Cinnamon, and there’s a path- no signs- that leads through the jungle to the beach. (Hitchike there with a local- they know where it is.) Its the place to be, anything goes (nudity) and you’ll make great local friends. Yikes- Best kept St. John secret just spilled! How I miss it!

It is called Virgin Islands Campground & is off the coast of St. Thomas. My husband & I used to live on this pristine island a million years ago, when the only amenity there was an old food truck that would host a cook-out on the beach w/ a movie every Saturday night. Now there is also a little restaurant and bar, a provisions shop, a campground & a couple of food trucks. Also you can go on a mountain bike tour or rent a golf cart too see all 500 acres. The island has cool history too, involving such notables as . . .very thirsty pirates (thus the moniker “Water Island”), a WWII stronghold with secret tunnels & the ruins of an old hotel that used to host Hollywood elite such as the Rat Pack.

Take the little ferry from Tickles at Crown Bay Marina & in about 10minutes you will be on the gorgeous Honeymoon Beach of tiny Water Island. It is the best!!!
