Wow! I teared up reading this. It’s such an inspiring post, reminds someone of the little things we take for granted.
Also, I appreciate the awareness you’ve created for the Nager syndrome. Glad to see such amazing people like you do these amazing things.

They had that in Ecuador and I tried that, and it was horrible tasting. Maybe I didn’t make it correctly, but thank you for the idea to mix it with milk, since I tried it with water.

I understand the food issues. I’m traveling while In the beginning stages of recovery from anorexia. I still need to gain about 35 pounds. You mentioned not being able to find ensure plus. On recent trips to Asia and Israel I found ensure! It just wasn’t how I expected it to be. You buy it in a tin and mix it yourself. I found mixing it with milk rather than water made it the equivalent of a plus rather than regular.

Meteora has been on my list since I watched “For Your Eyes Only” in 1982! Crete too! I visited Santorini in 2003, I’ve heard it’s become unbearable at this point. My main reason for visiting Santorini was to see Akrotiri, a Minoan outpost buried when the volcano at Thira (Santorini) erupted 3,500 years ago.

Spicy, I’m not good with tolerating. However, I tried chapulines in Oaxaca, Mexico, which is grasshopper and it’s delicious. I had the tiny version so no risk of choking for me. But I really do wish I can eat and try all the food out there like gyros in Greece or tacos in Mexico or dumplings in China for example.

Huge history nerd here. If I had an once of patience, I wouldn’t mind teaching history/social studies to kids. But I’m pretty impatient myself.

Greece: I already visited the major historical sites 10 years ago, so this time, it’s on my own terms. Athens, Thessaloniki, Meteora, and Crete for this trip. Zero interest in Santorini and Mykonos.

You’ll definitely fall in love with Armenia. It’s full of history, and the genocide that happened there was never taught in USA but I learned so much in Armenia.
